What this test measures

The Elite Health Profile is an extensive blood and urine panel that measures more than 20 biomarkers spanning cardiovascular health, metabolic function, thyroid regulation, nutritional status, hormonal balance, and systemic inflammation. The panel includes a Complete Blood Count (CBC), Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), Lipid Panel, Urinalysis, Hemoglobin A1c, Insulin, high-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP), Apolipoprotein B (ApoB), thyroid markers (TSH, T3, and T4), nutritional markers (ferritin, vitamin D, vitamin B12, and folate), and testosterone.

The CMP component alone covers blood sugar, electrolytes and fluid balance (sodium, calcium, potassium, carbon dioxide, chloride), protein status (albumin, total protein), kidney filtration markers (BUN, creatinine), and liver enzymes (ALT, alkaline phosphatase, AST, bilirubin). Layered on top of that, the cardiovascular markers (lipids, ApoB, hs-CRP, insulin) provide a detailed risk assessment, while thyroid hormones, nutritional vitamins and minerals, and testosterone address the hormonal and nutritional factors that influence energy, metabolism, and overall resilience. This panel is designed to detect early imbalances before they progress to symptomatic disease, going well beyond what a standard annual blood draw typically covers.

Who should consider this test

You might consider this test if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Individuals seeking a comprehensive baseline health assessment to establish reference points for future monitoring and preventive healthcare planning.
  • Those experiencing symptoms such as unexplained fatigue, weight changes, mood fluctuations, or decreased energy levels that may be related to metabolic, thyroid, or nutritional imbalances.
  • People with family histories of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, thyroid disorders, or other chronic conditions who want proactive health screening.
  • Adults who haven't had recent lab work and want to assess their overall health status without requiring a doctor's visit or waiting for an annual physical.
  • Individuals interested in optimizing their health and wellness through understanding their metabolic markers, hormone levels, and nutritional status.
  • Those considering lifestyle changes related to diet, exercise, or supplementation who want comprehensive baseline measurements to track progress.

What to expect

Preparation

Fast for 9-12 hours before testing. Water is permitted during the fasting period. Continue taking regular medications unless specifically advised otherwise by a healthcare provider. Avoid strenuous exercise 24 hours before testing as it may affect certain results.

Sample Type

A trained phlebotomist will collect blood samples from a vein in the arm using standard venipuncture techniques. A urine sample will also be collected using a sterile collection cup provided at the laboratory.

Collection

The blood draw typically takes 5-10 minutes, while urine collection is immediate. The laboratory staff will ensure proper sample handling and processing for accurate results across all biomarkers tested.

Turnaround

Results are typically available within 2-4 business days and will be accessible through a secure online portal with detailed explanations of each biomarker.

Understanding your results

With this many biomarkers, the results are best interpreted by looking for patterns and relationships across categories rather than focusing on any single value. For example, elevated insulin alongside a rising HbA1c tells a different story than either finding alone, and cardiovascular markers like ApoB and hs-CRP add nuance to a standard lipid panel. Each biomarker has its own reference range, and healthcare providers assess the full constellation of results within the context of individual health history, symptoms, and goals.

Reference ranges may vary by laboratory and individual factors. Results should be interpreted by a healthcare provider in the context of your overall health.

What does a “Low” result mean?

Low results in certain biomarkers may also indicate health considerations that warrant attention. Low vitamin D or B12 levels may suggest nutritional deficiencies. Low thyroid hormone levels may indicate thyroid dysfunction. Low protein levels may suggest nutritional concerns or liver function issues. Low red blood cell counts may indicate anemia. However, individual results should always be interpreted in the context of symptoms, medical history, and other test findings.

What does a “High” result mean?

Elevated results in various biomarkers may suggest different health considerations. For example, elevated glucose or A1C levels may indicate increased diabetes risk or poor blood sugar control. Elevated cholesterol markers may suggest cardiovascular risk factors. High inflammatory markers like CRP may indicate underlying inflammation. Elevated liver enzymes may suggest liver stress or dysfunction. It's important to note that single abnormal results don't necessarily indicate disease and should be evaluated by a healthcare provider considering overall health status.

Privacy & confidentiality

All test results are confidential and protected under HIPAA regulations. Results are not automatically sent to personal physicians or added to medical records unless specifically requested. No insurance billing occurs for these direct-pay tests, ensuring privacy and avoiding potential impacts on insurance coverage or rates.
